पटना, 7.11.2017. कालिदास रंगालय में दहेज प्रथा और बाल विवाह प्रथा पर आगामी नाटक के सम्बंध में चर्चा में प्रसिद्ध लेखिका और समजसेविका ममता मेहरोत्रा शामिल हुईं. उसी दौरान उन्होंने कला के विभिन्न क्षेत्रों में योगदान के लिए कुछ कलाकारों को सम्मान प्रदान  भी किया. सम्मान प्राप्त करनेवालों में आर.जे. श्रुति भी शामिल थीं.

Today we are talking about a man of high calibre and low profile who is an erudite in mass communication and hails from a remote village of Bihar named Belarahi of Madhubani district. His academic path traversed from Economics (Graduate, DU) to Hindi literature (M.Phil, Doc, JNU),  IIMC, FTII, and then to Siegen Univ. (Germany). From a typical rustic background to a superbly sophisticated environs of Germany, he is an epitome of the saying that if Bihari decides for something,  he would put in all his mind, soul and body to achieve that.  He has made Bihar proud by his remarkable achievements in media studies and his recent comparative study of Religion, Politics and Media in Indian vis-a-vis German perspective has been making the rounds among Journalists of significance in national arena.  Arvind gives it all to his father Sri Aniruddh Das, who has been a man of immaculate character throughout his life and who remained undeterred even in the most trying circumstances. He is very attached to his mother, an idol of affection and is extremely thankful to his wife to whom he could take recourse to whenever he needed.

Arvind Das is a journalist and researcher, currently working at Infotainment Television (ITV), New Delhi, which produces current affairs programmes. Earlier a consultant for BBC, New Delhi, Das has a rich experience in print and electronic media. He is author of a book Hindi Mein Samachar (News in Hindi), co-edited Religion, Politics and Media: German and Indian perspectives and has presented several research papers on Indian media in national and international seminars. A graduate in Economics from University of Delhi, Das has a PG diploma in journalism from the Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC), New Delhi. Being a film enthusiast, he has also done a film appreciation course from the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII), Pune. He completed an MPhil degree in Hindi literature and a PhD thesis on Hindi journalism from Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi. As a doctoral candidate in JNU, he also received a Junior Research Fellowship of the University Grants Commission (UGC). Later, he was awarded the German Research Foundation (DFG) Fellowship for pursuing post-doctoral work at Siegen University, Germany.

रोहिणी और सुधांशु थापा का म्यूजिक एलबम -'येशु की दीवानी'

रोहिणी थापा (गायिका) अपने पति सुधांशु थापा (गीतकार) के साथ

गायिका रोहिणी थापा और गीतकार सुधांशु धापा के गीतों का ऑडियो एलबम ‘येशु की दीवानी’ न सिर्फ भक्ति-भाव बल्कि संगीत की श्रेष्ठता की ओर बढ़ते कदम का भी एक उदाहरण है. इतनी कम उम्र में इस दम्पति ने यह एलबम जारी कर एक प्रतिमान स्थापित किया है जो अन्य युवा कलासाधकों के लिए अनुकरणीय कहा जा सकता है. इसमें दस गीत हैं. दूसरे गीत जिसे शान्ता टोप्पो ने लिखा है को छोड़्कर अन्य नौ गीत सुधांशु थापा ने लिखे हैं जो उदीयमान प्रतिभाशाली कवि हैं. बिना किसी बाधा के गाये जानेवाले भक्तिभाव से सराबोर इतने गीतों की रचना इस उम्र में कर डालना कोई आसान काम नहीं है. और रोहिणी की तो आवाज इतनी सधी हुई है कि कोई भी सुननेवाला ध्वनि तरंगों में डूबे बिना नहीं रहेगा. यह गायिका निश्चित रूप से झारखण्ड ही नहीं भारत में अपना यश फैलता हुआ देखेगी इसमें तनिक भी शक की गुंजाइश नहीं है. अधिकांश गीत पाश्चात्य संगीत पर आधारित हैं पर बीच-बीच में कुछ गीतों में भारतीय संगीत की भी पूरी झलक दिखती है. और चौथे गीत ‘ऐ मेरे ईशु’ में तो कमाल ही हो गया है जब गायिका तबले की धुन पर भारतीय शास्त्रीय राग का सफल आलाप करती दिखती है वहीं गायक अपने पाश्चात्य संगीत के धुन पर आधुनिक शैली को प्रदर्शित कर रहा है. इस दोनो संस्कृतियों की जुगलबंदी बेजोड़ बन पड़ी है. अन्य गीतों में यदा-कदा भारतीय संगीत के तत्व पाश्चात्य संगीत के ताने-बाने को दृढ़ता प्रदान करते दिख रहे हैं. मात्र रु. 120/= में उपलब्ध यह एलबम ज्र्रूर सुना जाना चाहिए. और ऐसा कहना सिर्फ भकित-भाव के लिहाज से नहीं बल्कि संगीत साधना के  दृष्टिकोण से भी लाजमी है.

Musical Tribute to the departed souls (Chandra Kant Das- renowned Sarod player)

Lately a new tradition has been established in some of the ceremonies performed on the death of dear ones. One of the notable example was the Shraddh Karma ceremony (ceremony after death) performed for renowned national Sarod player Chandra Kant Lal Das. No Brahamanism was practiced and all rituals were done as per Arya Samaj rules. The special point worthy to be noticed is that the family of C.L. Das is not Arya Samaj practitioner. Even though they chose it because they think an intellectual should understand that it is futile to perform ostentatious celebrations after death of someone. The real service is that what you do for someone in his lifetime and whatever you do after his death is just for the sake of your own satisfaction and for proving your high social status. 

Here is pictorial excerpts of his Shraddh ceremony of Late C. L. Das. Of course, havan (offering articles to holy fire) was done in daytime but even that was not at such a scale which can be termed as a symbol of social status. In the evening, while the large number of people gathered on the occasion were participating in a buffet, a slide show was flashing on a screen where the memorable pictures of Late Das were being presented one by one along with a soothing melodious tune of Sarod played by Late Das. The example of this kind of Shraddh Karma is commendable and everybody should follow it.

It should be mentioned that Sri Choudhary has been honoured with 'Great Citizen of Bihar' award a few years back by a reputed organisation. Noted Sarod exponent and music scholar, Prof CL Das is no more (मशहूर सरोदवादक प्रो.चंद्रकान्त लाल दास नहीं रहे)

        प्रो.चंद्रकांत लाल दास का निधन:

       मैहर सेनिया घराने के सरोद वादक पं. चंद्रकांत लाल दास का कल 17 अगस्त 2017 को पटना में स्वर्गवास हो गया। उनकी आयु 83 वर्ष थी। बाबा अलाउद्दीन ख़ाँ के वह वरिष्ठ शिष्यों में थे। बिहार के संगीत जगत में उनकी अच्छी प्रतिष्ठा थी। हिन्दी में संगीत समीक्षा को उनका योगदान स्मरणीय है। 'संगीत' मासिक में 50-60 के दशकों में 'गगन संगीत' स्तंभ के लिए उन्होंने रेडियो के अखिल भारतीय कार्यक्रमों की निरंतर संगीत समीक्षा लिखी। उनका यह योगदान ऐतिहासिक है।

      पाँच पुत्रियों और एक पुत्र के पिता प्रो. दास ने अपनी पाँचों पुत्रियों को शिक्षा देने और संगीत तथा नृत्य के क्षेत्र में कलाकार बनाने का संकल्प लिया। किसी पिता के लिए यह निर्णय उस दौर में बड़ा क्रांतिकारी था।'पटना संगीत संकल्प' के वह अध्यक्ष थे। संगीत-लेखन के लिए उन्हें 'काका हाथरसी संगीत सम्मान' से नवाज़ा गया था। संगीत कार्यालय, हाथरस और 'संगीत संकल्प' की देश भर की शाखाओं की ओर से प्रो. चंद्रकांत लाल दास को विनम्र श्रद्धांजलि...
